The beginning of a new year is always full of new resolutions for some…. and photography projects others!! This year I have been asked to be a part of another monthly project called self portrait 12 times. The idea is to take a self portrait capturing our relationships with our children, significant other, family, pet, best friend, or ourselves. As a mother, and also a photographer, I am rarely IN my photographs. While I definitely feel more comfortable behind the lens, in years to come I want my children to have lots of images of not only themselves, but of them with me and their dad, as well as just me. When this project comes to an end, I will have at least 12 images of the relationships in my life. How wonderful is that? So here I am…..I thought I would start with just me, but then the girls wanted in… and who am I to say no to that.

My biggest highlight of 2011 was my little girl turning one. It was such a big milestone and I can’t believe how big she’s grown and how much she is learning. Still remember taking her home from the hospital! I’m already signed up for your newsletter, and follow you on FB. Don’t have twitter, but if I did, I’d follow you there as well. My highlight of 2011 was the birth of my second miracle, Clara. :) HUGE highlight, that’s for sure. I can’t make extra entries because I’m already signed up for your newsletter, and following you on facebook & twitter. My highlight of 2011 was my son taking his first steps. It brought me to tears as I realized he was no longer a baby and officially a toddler as he toddled around our kitchen. My highlight of 2011 was spending quality time with my amazing five year old son during my first full summer off… I just signed up for your newsletter and liked you on Facebook. My highlight in 2011 was becoming a Mother for the first time. Our son came early, but he has been our little miracle! I am already signed up for the newsletter and I am going to follow you on Facebook! The highlight of my 2011 was having my first child in May! I signed up for your newsletter and liked you on facebook Our families biggest highlight this year was knowing that my husband’s life has been extended and he is experiencing a better quality of life even after doctors said no way! Too many highlights for 2011. Mostly sharing and receiving love from my beautiful family. P.s. if I win I’m totally making the trip out to Calgary. We might have a reason to take special family portraits this year :) shhh…it’s a secret.
