1 year old – Calgary Children’s Photogrpaher

April 25, 2010

Yesterday I got to photograph a sweet little boy on his birthday, his 1st birthday!

I first met him, his big brother and mother a year ago at his newborn session and again when he was about 5 months old. Here is a quick sneak peek!

Robyn

Anabella's Mama - OMG, great job Robyn! He is the cutest little boy ever! It almost makes me want to have a second and have it be a BOY! Love his little lips and eyelashes! He's perfect!

Danielle - Gorgeous!! Love the processing on these too! :-)

{fresh for friday} Green – Calgary Photographer

April 23, 2010

We have had some gorgeous weather lately, and as a result that faint green glow I saw a few weeks ago has really started to spread. I love this time of year when the trees, grass and flowers are coming alive again and adding some colour into our lives after the winter months. Now all we need is some really good rain showers to make everything lush. This time next month the leaves will be fully out and we will have had to cut the lawn once, I will have even planted my flower beds. But till then I will enjoy watching the glow of green spread.

“yesterday the twig was brown and bare;
today the glint of green is there;

tomorrow will be leaflets spare;
I know no thing so wondrous fair,

no miracle so strangely rare.
I wonder what will next be there.”

I have a few sessions booking this weekend… tomorrow I have a 1 year old session and then on Sunday I get to meet a brand new baby girl!! So make sure you check back next week for some adorable sneak peeks.

what to wear {add a little colour & texture} – Calgary Photographer

April 20, 2010

I often get questions on what to wear from my clients prior to their sessions. I always tell them to try to pick a few complimenting colours and dressing within them, try to stay away from being too matchy, (I don’t think that is an actually word, but to me it is). Texture and pattern in clothes and accessories are great too, as long as it isn’t over done. I feel it is important to capture a true sense of a family’s personality and white shirts and jeans don’t really seem to do that. Today I came across a great post by a fantastic photographer Angie Warren, she talks about the very same thing I try to relay to my clients. Check out her “Embracing Your Color Palette” post on A Boring Photo.
